JAC! Creative Communications Consulting
JAC! Julie Andras Communications is an integrated communications consultancy based in Peterborough, ON. Serving clients around the world, Julie Andras has guided clients across virtually every industry through the marketing process to achieve their business goals and ultimately secure their success in their respective marketplace. With versatility as her bailiwick, she quickly grasps the types of communications the customer of any product or service is looking for.
Julie has over two decades of experience in the marketing communications industry. From consumer goods to fine arts and from beauty to high technology, she has worked in both agency and corporate environments. Believing that the most important elements of a public relations program are relationships, she has spent her career building bridges between clients and media, as well as companies and consumers.
Most recently, she represented L'Occitane en Provence (a French-based skincare, bath/body and home fragrance company) for almost a decade, Cadbury’s home entertainment products, as well as clients in the home decor, lifestyle and fashion sectors to promote their products across the country, and around the world.
Her career in communications began with the Elgin and Winter Garden Theatres and the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), where she was involved in the restoration of the historic venue and the first renovations to the AGO, as well as securing media coverage for exhibitions and guiding international journalists through the AGO’s galleries.
With a move to the high-tech sector, her mandate was to develop communications programs that would speak to the consumer, for large and small companies across North America. In the early ‘90s, Andras worked directly with Bill Gates and Microsoft to deliver the message "A computer on every desk and in every home," as well as "Information at your fingertips"―both prophetic in light of the status of technology today.
While establishing and managing a high-technology practice at Burson-Marsteller Canada, she raised the profile of companies such as Sun Microsystems through media relations and ensured journalists experienced the power of Sun firsthand at the World Cup in San Francisco. Working with Silicon Graphics to promote their high-end graphic design hardware capabilities (a co-promotion with Bell Canada) and organize a “Magic Bus” tour led to her move from agency side to corporate.
At Bell she was responsible for all facets of the launch of Sympatico, “The Internet Service for Everyone,” again leveraging her expertise in delivering on the promise of technology in a language understood by the consumer. From advertising and public relations to packaging, point-of-sale and reseller training, she was immersed in the early days of the service, and was instrumental in its roll-out across Canada.
From Bell she moved to IBM Canada, where she managed all facets of marketing communications programs for seven divisions of Global Services, including Data Management, Customer Relationship Management, and e-business Services. Determining which marketing tools would prove most effective, and then overseeing the execution of all the related activities for the program, resulted in the rise in profile for the “people” side of IBM, and the consulting expertise found within the walls of Big Blue.
After a decade in the high tech sector, Andras focused her sights on the consumer market, and over the next decade immersed herself in projects ranging from the grand opening of Brookfield Place in Toronto to launching consumer electronics in the Canadian marketplace as well as medical devices, on-line services, and group buying sites.
Currently, she consults for clients across all industries and sectors to develop strategies and implement marketing communications programs to achieve results that meet, and ultimately exceed, objectives.
